Data Scientist
Gorilla Logic is working with our client, who is an industry leader in providing the largest resource of consciousness-expanding videos, to help build their team of highly intelligent and capable engineers. This a unique and highly technical role, requiring strong initiative, platform leadership, and product to market experience in delivering a leading-edge platform solution. As a Data Scientist, you’ll be helping to create, design, develop, test, calibrate, deploy, and support predictive models to support recommendations and personalization. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.  

Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years as a professional data scientist, preferably in a growth company
  • Professional experience building predictive models through techniques such as machine learning, collaborative filtering, logistic regression, etc. 
  • Professional experience building predictive models to support merchandising and product recommendations
  • Professional experience designing, executing and evaluating A/B tests
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies: Spark, Python (including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, or StatsModels, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with SQL on relational and NoSQL data stores, preferably on AWS platforms
  • Proven ability to collaboratively and maturely work on a team
Bonus Skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in recommendation and personalization technologies from leading vendors or providers such as Netflix or Amazon
  • Curious with an aptitude to quickly learn
